Commercial Fire Door Installations Across Commercial Properties

From warm oak veneer feature doors to robust painted single and double-leaf sets, this project showcases the importance of combining compliant fire protection with a professional finish.

The Project

Domus Construction recently carried out a series of fire door installations and upgrades across a number of commercial properties, including offices, stairwells, corridors and secure areas.

The project required a range of fire door solutions to suit different areas of each building, while ensuring that the finished installations were robust, practical and professionally presented.

With existing openings, layouts and finishes to work around, careful attention was given to the fit and finish of each door set, as well as the associated hardware and fire safety requirements.

What We Installed

The project included a variety of fire door styles and configurations, including:

  • Warm oak veneer doors with vision panels and full-height side lights
  • White and light grey painted doors, both solid and with vision panels
  • Dark charcoal and black doors for higher-traffic and more industrial areas
  • Single-leaf and double-leaf door sets
  • Surface-mounted and concealed door closers
  • Stainless steel ironmongery and kick plates
  • Intumescent seals
  • Appropriate fire door signage
  • Supporting certification documentation

The Result

The completed installations provided a consistent and professional finish across a variety of commercial environments.

Particular care was taken to minimise disruption within the occupied buildings, with works carefully sequenced around the requirements of each site.

The finished doors not only provide an important element of passive fire protection but also significantly improve the appearance of corridors, stairwells and other communal areas.

The combination of different finishes, colours and configurations demonstrates the flexibility required when working across commercial properties, while maintaining a consistent standard of workmanship throughout.

Why Fire Doors Matter

Fire doors form an important part of a building’s passive fire protection. When correctly specified, installed and maintained, they help to contain fire and smoke and can provide valuable additional time for occupants to evacuate safely.

Professional installation is therefore essential. The door leaf, frame, seals, closers, hinges and other hardware all need to work together as part of the complete fire door set.

This project demonstrates how essential fire safety measures can be incorporated into commercial buildings without compromising on appearance, durability or day-to-day use.
